Privacy policy
Bruges Unfiltered, last updated 10 October 2026.
Short version: the app collects nothing about you. No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
Location
If you allow it, the app uses your location while it's open to show where you are on the map, sort places by distance and move a walk on when you reach a stop. Your location stays on your device. It's never sent to us or to anyone else, and it isn't stored.
You can say no, or turn it off later in your phone's settings. Everything still works without it.
What stays on your device
Your walk progress, saved places and finished reads are stored on your phone only. Deleting the app deletes them.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is handled by the App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details.
Services the app talks to
- OpenFreeMap, for the map tiles. Like any website, their servers see your IP address when the app downloads a map.
- Expo (EAS Update), to check for content updates. This also involves your IP address and basic device information, such as the app version and platform.
- Apple Maps or Google Maps, only when you tap for directions. That opens their app, under their own privacy policy.
- A place's website or phone number, only when you tap it. That opens the website or your phone app, under their own privacy policy.
Children
The app isn't aimed at children and collects no data from anyone.
